ASPERGER is an email support list that is currently open only to:
1. Parents/primary caregivers of children with Asperger syndrome (AS), High-Functioning Autism (HFA) or Pervasive Developmental Delay (PDD).

2. Adults with these conditions.
Those who do not fit in these categories or are seeking mainly factual information should visit one or more of the sites listed at the end of this page.

The primary focus is on providing support and information for parents of children (of all ages) who are on the high functioning end of the autism spectrum.

A "support" (as opposed to "fact gathering") list gives the members an opportunity to share experiences, to encourage each other in their endeavors, and to "vent" about the difficulties that they may be having.
A "fact gathering" list is for the sole purpose of giving factual information about a particular subject, leaving emotions and untested theories out of it.

Although average daily list volume is currently 5-10 posts per day, higher volumes of up to 100 posts per day can be anticipated at times, especially if an issue inspires passion among our members. Digest and
Index are available.

Once you send it a subscribe command a listowner will contact you with further subscription information. Subscriptions are approved after the potential subscriber has sent in a profile -- details to follow when you are contacted. Please feel free to ignore the follow-up post if Asperger is not what you expected.

All list members are expected to show courtesy and respect towards other members, and not to clog our limited space with unnecessary quoting. Our Posting Guidelines go into more detail on this. You will be given directions on how to download them when you are subscribed, or you may ask the listowners to send you a copy if you wish to view them sooner.
